Elphinstone Cycles services mountain bike suspension at our shops in Gibsons and Sechelt, BC. Whether your fork feels harsh, your shock is losing air, or you just want your bike set up properly for Sunshine Coast trails, our mechanics can help.

Why suspension service matters here

Coast riding is hard on suspension. Wet, rooty trails at Sprockids, long descents on the B&K network on Mt. Elphinstone, and full days of laps at Coast Gravity Park all push grit and water past seals and break down oil. Regular service keeps your fork and shock feeling smooth, protects expensive stanchions and seals, and keeps the manufacturer warranty intact.

What we do

• Suspension setup: sag, air pressure, rebound and compression settings tuned to your weight and the way you ride.
• Fork and shock service: cleaning, new seals and fresh oil to bring back that smooth, supple feel.
• Diagnosis: leaks, knocking, sticky travel or a shock that won't hold air.
• Upgrades: new forks, shocks and dropper posts from Fox, Marzocchi and other brands, ordered in and installed.

How much does it cost?

Suspension service is included in our Annual Overhaul ($295), along with a full teardown and rebuild of your bike. Standalone suspension work is charged at our shop rate of $100/hour plus parts. Ask us for a quote. Pricing depends on your fork or shock model and what it needs.

How often should I service my suspension?

Most manufacturers recommend a basic lower-leg or air-can service every season of regular riding and a full damper service less often. If you ride a lot in wet conditions, or your suspension feels different than it used to, it's time to bring it in.

Upgrading your suspension

We're a dealer for Fox suspension, including Fox 34, 36, 38 and 40 forks, Float shocks and Transfer dropper posts, plus OneUp droppers and Race Face components. We'll help you pick the right travel and model for your bike and riding, then install and set it up.
